I slapped in some replacement pickups for my USA Standard Strat. Basically, I heard another dude play his Strat with these pickups in it through a Vox amp, then I played my guitar through the amp and it sounded all lifeless. ? Lesson: don't A/B stuff unless you're willing to part with some cash.
Anyhow, quality of the pickups is not that great: the finish is very average, and I actually had to re-solder the connections on the bridge pup itself (where the leads are attached to the wind) in order to get it to work. Sound-wise, they're really awesome! Much more vintage sounding than the standard pups, and they sound great with drive. I will be test driving them on my actual amp tonight, but for interest's sake here are some (badly played, sorry) comparison clips:

I basically just recorded the above clips on exactly the same Guitar Rig 4 settings. Normally, for the new pickups I would adjust the settings to suit my tastes but for the purpose of this comparison I left them the same.
