Need to get acoustic guitar

Well, you may remember me as the oke who was asking all sorts of questions about the Cort G260. In the meanwhile, I bought an Ibanez which is a hell of a lot different from the Cort guitar I wanted but still kiff. Nogal got a little amp thrown in as well. I've been reading what is said here plenty and I have decided: a) I need an acoustic guitar - one of those jobbies with a pickup in b) I need a Fender Stratocaster c) I need a Fender Telecaster d) I need a biggish amplifier - I was advisd to get a Vavletronix. That will happen but also a full valve a bit later on That's quite a bit so it has to happen like one thing a month. for this month it is going to have to be the acoustic guitar because there are two sets of varsity fees to fork out. So, what I would appreciate is if you okes would give me some advice on an acoustic here. I would like to spend between say 3 and 5K. But if it is what I really want and 'need' then I will go up to 10K. Also, I have seen an Ibanez for sale (Gumtree I think) for 1400 and the okes in Harmony-Central thought it was a good guitar. So who knows. I have been to a store and was shown an Ibanez (exotic wood which looks groovy but I am going to be a star in dark places where the people wont see my guitar anyway and I dont know if these exotic woods are that good for the sound), A Walden (which sounded good but what do I compare it to?) and a Yamaha (now that is a pretty reliable company isnt it?). There are some of you who subscribe to only the acoustic code and others who do both electric and acoustic. Can you assist please? Oh yes and: e) I need to learn to play all this stuff (failing which I will pursue my other dream which is to stop working, leave my family and ask people for money in carparks or something. I check out the site and I see this Vintage and that Custom, and this Highway One and that Deluxe, and this Standard and that Hot Rod, etc.. But I cant find anywhere to explain to me what I should get for what I want to do. Not that I know what I want to do, except that I want to go out and buy one now. But on the Seymour-Duncan site they tell you what their pickups are suitable for. So, for instance, if I fancy myself as an oke doing the Texas blues, what do I go for? Or maybe just throw each over the shoulder and take a look in the mirror to check what looks gif? Is there a place to find out this stuff?

As regards Fenders (or any other brand available in SA) best thing is to go to shops and play them and speak to the sales guys. Also try googling for reviews of the axes.

As with all things price will be a fact to consider ☹.

You should extend your try-outs to well looked after "pre-owned" axes as well.
