recording with new interface

Hi all, I did this to test out Reaper, EZ drummer and my new roland Duo Capture EX interface. I still used my cube 80 for all the guitar work and effects, except the bass which is done clean into the interface. no mixing, mastering or antyhing done, just as I recorded it for now. let me know what you think. ?

It's just random for me. Timing was a bit wonky at times.

It's just... there's nothing really to comment on. So people are being polite and saying nothing. The palm mute power chords sound ok. The intro piece timing is wonky as pointed out. But overall it just sounded like you said - a quick test with no production. What kind of comments would you expect?

I thought it sounded good, but listening to it now after reading only 2 honest opinions I look at it differently. Without critique I would have probably made the same mistakes again on a recording thinking its good enough, but now I can try and improve on a lot of areas. thanks guys.

The internet can be a cruel reality mirror. First it'll depress you, then you'll practice harder, then you'll get better. (Well that was my experience.) You have to remember people post clips every day, 100's of them every day; not here but all over I mean. Some of them totally professional sounding, and those STILL get ignored 'cos there's so much of it. So that's what you're up against.

Ya on the quality of the gear used it's probably ok - like the others mentioned, some timing issues, placement of guitars and drums in the mix, levels not 100% - need to eq out some lows and mids, and some highs to guitars and cut the highs of the drums a bit....etc

But all of those don't really apply coz u said no mastering or mixing. I like to learn where i can, and when it comes to recording i don't really know what i'm doing - after i uploaded a song of mine i heard it was clipping....which i hate. Stupid for not hearing it before, but that's learning curve which is a plus in my book.
