N. G.'s D. - A long time in the waiting!!

So, Its been a relatively long time since I was last able to share a 'new guitar day', but the day has finally arrived!

For a good while I've been eyeing up these guitars, in fact, the second one below I had actually been looking at for a number of years, but was never in a position to make them a reality, but after a good deal of trading gear with guys, and then finally managing to actually sell some kit instead of just trading, I was finally in a position to afford them! At first I thought I'd only be able to afford the one, but it soon became apparent that I would actually be able to scrape enough together for both!

So, Without further adoo....

I introduce the Carparelli Slimm.....

I love the side profile of this top, but the pictures just don't do it justice.....

And that headstock is just perfect for my tastes.....

And then, the real Beauty.... The Carparelli Ivory Tower........

Again, the depth of the guitar is just perfect.....

The neck is very much the feel of a 335 only thinner....

The Ivory Tower is a guitar that is a hollowbody slimline, which has a block under the bridge to support it, but is otherwise a full hollow. This block does not run the full length of the guitar like in most slimline guitars of its type. So far, I haven't had a chance to plug them in, as they only arrived yesterday afternoon, but I'll post back here with my impressions once I've had a good play with them both. Both guitars also came in dedicated cases, which fit both guitars perfectly.

All in all, I'm a very happy bunny, and can't wait to get them plugged in.

They are both Ex-Demo models that i got through Matthew (TI Distribution). As I say, the Ivory Tower I had been eyeing up for a good few years, and just never quite managed to get enough together at any one time, but a few wise buys became fruitful when I later sold them on (not bought to deliberately sell on, but kit I didn't gel with), so that put me in a position where I had the funds, so I found myself able to afford them, and I thought 'Why not?!' After all, it is my birthday soon! ?

Thanks for the comments guys.....

I've had a few brief chances to plug them in over the weekend, and I must say that I'm highly impressed with both! Both have actually surpassed my expectations, and I am so happy with their tone, and playability. They do however require some new strings, which I'll get to soon, but even with these strings on they are impressive.

The Ivory Tower has a real big full sound to it, and I am surprised by how 'hot' the pups are for a hollowbody, yet they seem to be very well suited. The neck pup is perhaps a little bass heavy compared to some of my other guitars, but a small tweak of the bass knob solves that. switching to the bridge or both pups together offers great tonal versatility, and I'm sure will bring me many hours of fun playing it, and exploring its full tonal possibilities.

The Slimm is the real surprise. When I was looking into getting it, I was looking for a reasonable Les Paul type guitar, with a view to modding it after a while if it didn't fulfill my needs. All I can say is that being a player who never gets on with bridge pups, and always finds them too harsh or thin sounding, this Slimm possibly has the best bridge pup I've played so far! Its bright, but not harsh, and still well balanced, and combines very well with the neck pup, which in itself is warm, yet not muddy at all. I truly wasn't expecting this guitar to impress me quite as much as it has! I'm also really taken by the 'sculpting' of the body. The arch of the top is so well done and the whole guitar feels very comfortable both sitting and on a strap.

I'm sure I'll have more to share on them as I progress, but at this point in time, I'm a seriously happy bunny!

Congrats G! Those are real beauties. Matthew and the guys at TID sure are making some dreams come true! Great bunch of guys to do business with in my experience.

Big G!!!! Those look amaze-balls... I've been eye-ing those Carparelli's for a while myself. Give us an update of how they play, sound, feel etc etc ? puleeese!!!!
