Hi Guys
Had a great moment of nostalgia at rehearsal last night. I brought my 18 watter back in to my live rig after a 3 year absence, and damn have I missed it. Funny how some pieces of gear just feel like an old friend. You know, those pieces you keep coming back to, or selling and re-buying ?
Anyone here have any gear that just "fits"?
For me, it's my PRS custom 22, 9 years as my primary electric. My Larrivee, 10 years as my 1st choice acoustic. My 18 watter, which was my main amp during the peak of my session work, and my blues driver - 13 years.

For me its a telecaster ..... I keep trying to find a combination of tone and playabilty for the jazz i play ..... Keep buying guitars that come recommended or by tradition qualify for my needs .... In last 3 yrs i have owned many guitars a few vintage even and they all do the job but somehow i'll favour a guitar for a while then go back to a tele ....
So now after 3 archtops ( 2 were 40 years or older) 3 semi hollow ( also 2 vintage dates) a gibson 1955 lg3 flattop and a fender usa strat all in 3 years and i keep coming back to my tele's ....
So much so i've decided to "fine tune" my tele till i'm where i want .. As it offers me 99% of what i want tonally and 75% feel wise ( looking to replace my modern neck with a vintage one )
so yes my tele is my "boomerang" guitar

I've bought and sold a GT-Pro three or four times. Every time I "upgrade" I end up missing some features and get another.
Guitars and amps, I tend to keep the good 'uns and not miss the ones I sell (with a few exceptions, sold out of necessity).

i've bought and sold so many guitars over the years, i almost feel like my brother and his cars. my current set up is pretty much the happiest i've been with, and the only guitars i really miss, or regret selling, are my prs std 22 and custom 22. but they've both gone on to better homes, so i'm relaxed about it. i did have a yamaha pacifica i really enjoyed, and my first real electric, a washburn nuno bettencourt, that still lingers somewhere in the back of my head.
amp-wise, i don't really miss much. i'm really fortunate to have what i have now, and i'm hoping that the three tokai electrics and my larrivee, my little vox and my über-loud albion 35-watter will be with me for a long time to come

My old faithful is my Takamine 2005ltd , but she's maybe a bit jealous as the "new" (one year old) Cole Clark has been getting most of the attention lately.

It's not just you Thomas. It's 18Watt amps. Once you've had one you're always going to want to have one.
My little red devil 18W combo that EZ and lapdawg put together for me. I haven't had it long but it feels like coming home, amp-wise. That and my Tokai LS160 which is just more comfortable and sounds better than any other guitar I've ever known. I've played a whack of gigs on it now, more than any of my other guitars, and it just feels so right when I put it on. It and the 18W also play so nicely together.

31 year old Yammie 12 String, my goto guit.
Removes all worries from the days work and replaces it with cramp spasm in the left hand :yup: and the next day the fender acoustic plays like strat ?

I've just rediscovered my 71 Deluxe Reverb. I played a gig with it for the first time in 3 years, (Usually I use a Digitech GNX-4 Pedal straight into the PA due to small venues) but my new gig could handle the DLR. It's just SO good!! And, it's a 22 Watter.. kinda close to all the 18 watters the boys are so happy with.. Must be that natural overdrive that kicks in when you push it!!
Playing thru a Dan-o-Wah, a TS7, Delay & Chorus. Puts me right in the land of Milk and Honey!!

This. Those who play huge amps never get to hear their amp's power section driving. They get only preamp drive or they have to put the drive back in with a pedal. Nothing like the sound that made overdrive popular in the first place.
