Vintage/Replacement Guitar Parts.

I recently made a rather special acquisition, which I'm keeping secret for now, that needs a little love and affection.

For the smart ones this will give the game away but, I'm looking for a place (ideally locally) that I can get:

-a 60s vintage Gibson pickguard and bracket.
-60s vintage gold, reflector top hat style knobs
-dogear p90 pickup risers

I'm interested in modern replacement parts too as long as they're original Gibson at least.

I'm browsing www.partsisparts.com at the moment, which has all the new stuff. Vintage goodies on ebay are pretty spendy for the right stuff (needlessly so in my opinion). Was wondering if I could get anything locally, ideally Cape Town.

I wanna get it back up to snuff with original 60s parts if I can but if I can't I'm happy with modern stuff that I'm not worried about bumping/playing/scratching/losing.

but maybe they'll do in the interim? plus they're based in CT...

Original 60's parts will take some ebay surfing or emails to vintage guitar shops worldwide ...

But far as i know marshall music local gibson dealers can order any replacement part from gibson ... And in woodmead store i see lots of parts in stock ... I bought official gibson tunamatic bridge ... Just off the shelf ... Call stuart he can advise you

Some of the prices for the parts on Ebay are quiet SCARY! I'm going to get the Gibson replacement parts that I can from Marshall I reckon and buy the vintage stuff as I have cash spare here and there.

Yip, prices are scary for the vintage parts. I'm looking for gold barrel knobs and a trapeze bridge for a '53 ES-175.....maybe MM can assist with period correct replacement parts ?
