Ah! Now this is interesting. Not the same thing as GG (which is a form of constrained layer damping, used to decouple and dampen two layers of gypsum), but it looks like it could actually take the place of the whisper clips for the hat channel. Must do some more reading.
It's an interesting product, it really performs well in small gaps. You can include a layer in the construction of a drywall, and the 4mm gives a really good improvement in absorption. Because it's so dense, it doesn't do any decoupling, but has good absorption.

While I've got you guys... is there a local distributor for any of the acoustic caulks?
I've found Ivan Lin at
Pro Acoustic Consortium to be really helpful. I've retained their services formally as acoustic engineers for a difficult building, but I've also spoken to him over the phone informally to get some guidance about products etc. He might be able to point you at a supplier. I know that
.able, who import acoustiblok, have an acoustic tape and caulk they bring in, but I'm not sure if they sell it in small quantities, as they do a lot of installation work themselves.
