Could any of the wise men and ladies enlighten me.

I string a Fender stratocaster with .010 - 0.46 gauge. Assume I now wish to
tune all the strings on the guitar down from concert/ normal by 1/2 step ie the lower E to E flat etc but wish to keep a similar string tension as when the guitar was at concert. Would stringing with 0.11 - .048 achieve this? Or would I have to choose a higher gauge still, or will .011 1/2 step down actually produce a higher tension than the .010 set at concert.
Assume the guitar setup will be adjusted accordingly as well.

Thanking you from Mike
The general "rule" is go up one gauge per 1/2 step detuning. So try .011 - .048. Some guys develop a taste for particular sets of odd mixed gauges, but start with the .011s and take it from there...
Fender 25.5" scale open string length: 648mm
Fender fretted at first fret string length: 611mm
Gibson 24.75" scale open string length: 629mm
...so basically at equal tuning the Gibsons already have half a guage less tension. Correct?
