Hi all.
Just finished a rebuild on a '75 Rickenbacker 4001 bass. One issue left . . . . the neck pup has super low output and measures +-8Mohm ???
I opened up the coil, and checked the contact wires etc. All in order.
Now, I've been online and checked purchase options . . . . eBay only has the SD replacement, but the customer wants the original 4 pole on black version (the SD is all-chrome).
The Ric Boutique has the 4001/4003 replacement @$75, but only ships to N America and canada >☹
All other sites I found that have this, are charging $99 to $135 ☹
Any advice on where to get this without being ripped off . . . ?

Unfortunately with Ric, you are stuck with what is available and s/h pops up very rarely. If you want it to match cosmetically, it has to be an original Ric, which means you are stuck with their distributor and price.
Personally, I'd probably buy an SD and swap the coil into the old pickup. But I'm stupid/brave that way. ?
The only other option is to send the original to a rewinder, with all that entails...
