hi ya all........

there's always been open mic options in jhb but now PTA here is your chance .............

i am starting a monthly "acoustic"OPEN mic night in pretoria next Thurs 1st Aug will be the 1st one and then depending on how it goes it will be the 1st thurs of every month ......

open to everyone beginners to pro's ....... PA will be provided , just bring your guitar and do "your thing"

the venue is "Bella Sophia culinary cafe" corner of chamberlain and 18th ave in Riviera , pretoria
time is from 7 pm onwards

feel free to perform covers or originals, pop/rock ballads/jazz/folk/country/classical it's all welcome

same as the other open mic's around jhb there will be a 3 song/15 min time slot per artist

like with TJ's acoustic club in jhb this will be aimed mostly at acoustic guitar (plugged in obviously) however if you bring an electric guitar and play it clean (no overdrive) i have no issue with that .......

Might be worth it to email tuksfm, I think they have a free gig guide "service" if you want to do some free marketing.

@badapple ...sorry you away but it's something i would like to see happen more if it's well supported

also note..... if you an electric player and wanna play but don't have an acoustic guitar i will have a steel string acoustic and a nylon string there you can loan for a few songs..... so yes feel free to play some rock but as long as you play it on acoustic...think 'metallica unplugged" ? electric bass will be allowed and obviously any electric keyboards ......

This happens tonight ...... And remember this is just like jhb's TJ'S open mic .... That this is for beginners to advanced players wanting to perform live .... And this is not a competition in any way , and the audience is supportive ....its just a group of people who love guitar getting together and having fun and a chance to play live in a friendly enviroment .....
