AC will follow in the summer. Yup I remember when we used to be at full tilt with 4 of us in the old room and we'd be sweating like nuts in about 20 minutes, sometimes even less and that was in the winter....lol.
The current roof structure will only be there until the wall comes down between the two rooms. Once that comes down, I'll have a 4 layer structure for the roof consisting of MDfoam, HDfoam and soft packed fibreglass fill and a more dense fill as well. Two panels of hushboard and then a final ceiling panel. I'm expecting the roof to vibrate like crazy this weekend, there is no surprises there. My neighbours have been warned and they're cool with it as they are out for the morning anyway. lol.
The framework for the roof is going to be very interesting, I have a deal to swap 10 sheets of hushboard for enough 36mm brandering to do the whole structure, so that's good news, I wanted 50x70mm planks, but I can double up on the brandering, so I can make this work, I have about 3000 screws left from my old halfpipe so I have enough of them.
My sparkie just called me and told me that he's put in the two plug points. But damn, he's mounted them up against the wall higher than I wanted, oh well, it'll have to do, I can change it after the weekend to lower down.
I also made a deal with my inlaws to take all of the belgotex carpets out of their house if I can cart it away, so I'm getting pretty much brand new serengetti carpet for the whole room for nothing. Will have to make a plan on the underfelt though. I also landed a deal of a 5 litre bucket of white paint for the walls from my neighbour for helping him with his pool. So once the wall is down I can paint out the whole room. The bricks that split the room will be used to brick up the doorway as I'll be using the other one.
I'm trying to stick with the (doing it on the cheap/ erm nothing) theme as much as possible.
