Stolen Instruments Alert !!

costafonix

Hi GFSA'ers,
a good mate of mine was hijacked last night, he was returning from a band practise (Kempton Park region).
He lost his car, cellphone, a Marshall amp and a Lawsuit Black Ibanez Les Paul (his pride and joy),,,,,
so please keep your eyes and ears open for any of the above items that may hit the market, or in your local Cash Converters etc.
I will try and get some pics of his gear so that we can post it up here too.
Sadly, I think music was Lee's only source of income, so he has been badly affected (financially) from this, I'll be chatting to him soon to see how I can help the dude out, because I suspect he wasn't insured.

yup..BUMMER...
now that every cellfone has a camera ... its no excuse not to take a pic of all your equipment and of the serial numbers...
If you dont have proof..just because a pawnshop has something that looks like yours ...is not good enough...
Unless that live pic shows distinct self made, guitar hero fractures or something..be prepared to watch someone else jamming it on stage...

Eish, bummer. Sad to hear indeed. And that looks like one of the better set-neck lawsuit copies too.

Hey Costa, I know that dude. I've seen him at gigs plenty times. What's his name?? I'm bad with names.

Arno, his name is Lee, a truly dedicated guitarist, one of the nicest guys you could meet and least deserving of the bad luck,..

not looking like the same guitar as the stolen one. i saw the same FB ad and came here to report but the stolen one looks to have silver hardware and golden knobs
and the one on FB has golden hardware and black knobs.
also the hardware and pickups seem to be faded.

Headstock binding too.

Any luck Costa??

costafonix

nah nothing Norm.
In the meanwhile some mates have pitched in to do a benefit concert for him.
He's bringing his old guitar to me tomorrow and I'll set it up for him and do any necessary repairs etc. and there are a couple of other plans in motion which may assist Lee.
