Ja, they were 80's and early 90's. Wendy Oldfield on Vox. Jorge Bastos played drums for a while.

Another good band from the late 90's was Not My Dog.

Mean Mr. Mustard really only got going from 2000 onwards after their 2nd album was released. Saw them live many times, geez, they were playing everywhere at one stage. They were very tight live and Mark Beling, Leon Shaw and Hylton Brooker are all awesome musicians. They were the first band I ever saw that had a concert-size PA with their own sound-engineer at every gig and roadies to haul the gear. Leon told me that for 8 years, he didn't carry as much as a cable.....lucky bastard.

No mention of one of my favourite bands... I distinctly recall having the rave of a lifetime at a venue called The Smokehouse,
the band named Shrinking Railroad. Chances are they had no recordings on Good Hope Radio at the time but the vibe was absolutely awesome.
Years later it came back to me and the name Kevin Shirley came to mine... but it might be incorrect... whoever it was, the band was awesome, or maybe I woz very "high" at the time 8)

Hahahahahahahaha! First club gig 2nd December 1998 Roxy Rhythm Bar, was still 16 years old. No. 1 on 5fm rock chart August 1999. Didn't even have a real amp, used a Marshall DRP-1 with a Metal Zone. *cringe*

I remember watching Sublemon open for the nudies at Roxy's in 1998.Queue was around 2 blocks. Best moment was going to the roof between sets, and someone exclaims:

"Man, that pit was intense! I'm bleeding everywhere. Oh. Wait. It's not my blood...."

Loved Ethel, SNG, Just Jinger, Hog Hoggidy Hog, Leek etc.

A time before in-ear monitors, still recording to tape.

And I seem to remember EVERY damn band I watched seemed to have a Marshall Valvestate, a takamine in to a leem direct box, and ibanez bass. Trace Elliot bass amps everywhere. I hated marshalls for years because of the valvestate series.
