hi ya all , if you an acoustic/improvisational/ jazz/world music fan come and see my band perform on Wed 14th at Jonathan's in Buccleuch Jhb .... i'll post directions at bottom of page
this is a great line up of me on guitar /auriol hays (jazz vocalist) /glenne meldrum (percussionist) / max on drum kit
we perform in the same spirit of the original jazz musicians of old, where this band is totally unrehearsed and we know the basic form of the repetoire but the rest is left up to the inspiration an improvisational skills of the musicians..... very exciting to perform like this
repetoire wise we perform my original world music which i do as my solo instrumental guitarist show ....(these are all instrumental and have a range of influences from my world travels ...Flamenco/celtic/arabic/indian/morrocan/ jazz/ragtime/blues/african/latin american/cuban/classical and even an early romantic guitar style influenced piece in the style of 1800's guitarists ) then we perform Jazz standards in this unique acoustic style with the awesome vocalist Auriol Hays )
ENTRANCE IS FREE NO COUVERT CHARGE AND SHOW STARTS
8 PM (SINCE SOME PEOPLE HAVE 9-5 JOBS AND WE KNOW IT IS A MIDWEEK GIG)

GET ONTO THE N1 AND HEAD TOWARDS JHB IF YOU FROM THE PTA SIDE OF MIDRAND OR GET ONTO THE M1 IF YOU COMING FROM THE JHB SIDE OF MIDRAND AND HEAD TOWARDS PTA .... (BASICALLY THE SAME ROAD)JUST NAME CHANGES AT ONE POINT )
from both jhb and pta sides ....Take the woodmead offramp turn ..
left if you from pta side till you get to the T junction with Old Pretoria/jhb road ,
or turn Right if you from jhb side till you hit the T junction with old pta/jhb road
turn left into old pta/jhb road at next set of robots you turn right into Gibson.
At the circle keep left, it becomes Buccleuch drive and you will see the shopping center on your right hand side opposite a petrol garage, turn into the parking lot and jonathans is in the top corner next to the spar.

yeah ...if you come to the show we can definitely play " take 5" just ask for it....... we have no set repetoire the band just follows me ...and they that good that i can play anything and they just follow...
