Thanks guys,
I firmly believe that one can get caught up with too much technology and miss the point of capturing the actual tone of the instruments.
These days it's far easier to "replace" real drum sounds with triggered samples. I've heard many engineers in studios say "don't worry too much about that snare and kick sound, I'm gonna replace them anyway".
There's also this perception that it takes far too long to mic up an amp and get the right tone. It's also far easier to plug in a modeller. It really isn't rocket science to get a great guitar sound by the old tried and tested way.
Cheers,
Peter.
I find a real tube amp "feels" different to play than a digital modeller... tho my digital modeller experience goes up to a Boss GT8... but a tube amp lives and breathes!!!!
