Nylon strings high tuning

I'm looking at a few string sets that are nylon with the ball end for my JR-1. My preferred tuning is F A# F A# G D
My current string set used is D'Addario EJ11s 80/20 but there too noisy for classical playing. And this my friend is why I am going to nylon.

Anyone know if these strings need to be high tension???

Nylon strings never sound good on acoustic steel. The guitar is too heavily built/braced for the strings to get the top moving properly.

The 4th string is also the highest tension in a nylon set, so tuning up to F is going to cost you a lot of strings (and you can't get single ball ended nylon strings). And Earthwoods have the distinction of being the worst nylon strings I have ever used...

So far F tuning is working fine on my current set. I guess I'm stuck spending on another guitar ? I can just cut one end of the nylon strings.

I'd recommend it. Fortunately, thanks to the fact that most players start on them, there are always plenty available second hand at respectable prices (until you get to the serious instruments).

The reason why I thought of this idea is because the terrible scratch sounds I get when I play..here's an example I recorded the other day....not the greatest but here you go
