Honestly, thats a bit pricey allen ☹
Yeah, I realise that. But now if you see one going cheap, you know to try it (I saw a combo version pop up somewhere recently for a decent price). The CCs are well worth looking at too and are a lot cheaper.
Laney do some nice sounding amps, but I have heard of some reliability issues and very long repair times, which have kept me away from them. Five valve watts is surprisingly loud, but it does limit your clean headroom quite a bit, which means that for performance you will usually have to mic up and the other band members will need to rely on getting your sound from the monitors (especially if you have a drummer). Don't get me wrong - in a tightly controlled stage sound setup a lower power amp gives you a better sound and lowers stage volume to the point where everyone on stage can hear exactly what's going on (which is the key to a good PA sound IMO), but its rare that a player is in that controlled a situation - you're at the mercy of the engineer and his PA system too.
All-in-all, I'm really glad I waited to find the right amp at the right price.
