Kevin, Reinhard and I all got together over the weekend to fiddle with some gear, some pics

Kevin with his strat with a delicious helping of pedals strewn around the place.

Kevin, again, playing Reinhards Eric Johnson strat. Yes that is a blue Bassman..

We wanted to A/B a few Tubescreamer's and clones. Modded TS9 (mine with a blue LED for tone), Kevins Ashton Audio TS808, Kevins Fulltone Fulldrive and my Cmats Mod Signa Drive in to Kevins Bassman and Reinhards Deluxe Reverb. There was literally nothing between my TS9 and the AA TS808, the Signa Drive cut amazingly with the Bassman but didn't sound that great with the Deluxe Reverb and the Fulltone was a slightly different tone, less of a mid hump but sounded great with both. Tried this with both a strat and Kevins Epiphone Les Paul with Fat Cats.

Not to feel left out amp wise I broke out JMP50, and here is Kevin (again..) appreciating Marshall tone ? I also pulled out the plexi and we had Reinhards board output reverb in stereo between it and the Bassman which sounded really good.

Forgot to add, we also A/B'd my Timmy clone I built and Kevins actual Timmy and they were almost identical, mine just having slightly more bass at the same setting which could be something small like different value volume pots etc. ?

Haha, I can tell you're still upset because of being exposed to so much fender!

Ya, the signa drive sounded great through the bassman! cut nicely, more of a "modern" sound. Like I said to Reinhard, I think you can get a great sound out of any of those pedals... but I reckon most of it is finding what works best with your guitar/amp. And then do it again when you get a new amp!

Enough of me already! Where are you guys??? the stereo rig sounded great - that neck phat cat! Could have played that for a good while!
