Sufficient isolated guitar quality baseline?

I am unsure if this is worded correctly. I have uploaded quick recordings (timing and playing isn't amazing in the bridge PU recording) of myself playing Foo Fighters - No Way Back (guitars only).

On the records and ep's we listen to, would the guitar tracks often start with something like I have uploaded and once some good EQ'ing and mastering has been applied, you get to 'CD quality' one would expect? I.e. is all you need a decent quality, clean DI track?

Gear:

Ibanez RGA32 (Neck: Mean90, bridge: GFS Generator), strings a day or two old ---> Line6 UX1

Software:

Reaper ----> Nick Crow 7101 Lead + CatharsisIR impulse ----> Hi-pass (100), low-pass (10k) ----> No additional eq'ing if I recall.

Yeah - I'd say that's good enough for the mix engineer to work with. The mastering depends on the mix and the mix depends on the tracking, the tracking depends on the playing and gear.

I'd say it's difficult to say without knowing what the drums and bass guitar sound like, plus you need to kind of start with a raw "cd quality" sound if you want final cd quality sound, it's usually surprising to hear just how good the raw stuff sounds on most big production albums that sound really good.

There's also more to the "sound" than just the sound, especially when dealing with how guitar amp sim stuff sits in the mix and how well (or in the case of amp sim stuff how UNwell) it takes processing, what often sounds like a pretty acceptable to even good guitar amp sim sound on it's own ends up sounding like ass in a mix, or if you're lucky it still sounds decent but just won't blend in and the entire mix suffers.
