I am enjoying it , the reviews I have read to date been less than stellar though .....but me, to hell with the reviews , I like it but then I was always going to
I haven't trawled exhaustively, but I haven't read an outright damning review of 13. The major reservations seem to concern the lyrics, and there are some cringeworthy examples given. However, consensus (amongst the reviews I've read) is that Osbourne sings well and in a mature fashion, Iommi has got plenty left in the tank and Rubin has managed to get the band to recapture some of their original mojo.
oh yes, ozzy sounds like he is 19 without a doubt ....sounds clear and fresh.... which is amazing in itself , I have his last solo effort (scream) and he sounds better on 13. I have not followed Iommi since Dio really so nothing to compare to...this album is certainly well preduced , its polished, the final product is slick...... and it some places it makes me smile like a kid again....goosebumps .....the drive in DEar Father ...oh hell its fkn brilliant
This album is 35 years to late in real terms ... but I am digging it....its what the next step would of been
Hammeron, I doubt it is in the stores here....but pop over to iTunes an listen to the songs for a minute or 2 each
Edit: and one thing about this album is ..listen to the last minutes of the last song ....then play the first song of the very first Sabbath album...... I wont spoil it but interesting an it works
