Eric Johnson Signature strat in Lucerne Aqua Firemist.

Can't say I am a big EJ fan, but he certainly knows how to spec a guitar:

Nitro finish, 2 piece alder body, quarter sawn maple neck
12" radius with bound round laminated rosewood fingerboard and Soft V neck
Slightly thinner headstock, staggered tuners and angled headstock so you don't need string trees
EJ signature pickups
Even comes with ashtray cover and white coily chord ?

Really enjoying this strat. The 12 inch radius makes it a joy to play and these pickups are superb. The chunky neck has a nice feel to it.

@Vic The Gibsons will always be my fav! These ad a little tonal diversity 8)

@kapepper Yes, this one has the binding on the neck.

You guys may think this is heresy, but all strats should have a 12 inch radius on the necks. Absolute pleasure to play.

Wow man, that is a lovely plank. I didn't know the EJ strat comes in anything other than 2-tone sunburst (which I'm not too fond of). This Lucerne Aqua Firemist is gorgeous though.

Congrats - I'm a big fan of the maple board version of the EJ. I havent played one of the rosewood ones and I'm not a huge fan of a bound board on a Strat, but I know it's a very well-regarded model.

I guess it is still the honeymoon period, but this is just a spectacular guitar (not just an awesome strat). Something is very different. I don't know if it is the stiffer neck, pickups or combination of all the components. It plays incredibly easy and notes just seem to pop off the fretboard. I am smitten, one of those "They will have to take this guitar from my cold dead hands" moments.

@Shreddy Nick and myself have talked about getting a bunch of guitars into one room and doing some recording at his place. Mixing amps and guitars etc.
