Geez that is difficult. I am straining to think back

There were two periods of Humble Pie, The Peter Frampton years and the Clem Clempson who also was a hugely brilliant guitarist.

I had the first one As Safe As Yesterday Is - with Frampton and SmoKin' with Clem Clempson, Mid 70's album. I haven't heard these for years but they were both great albums.

I love Humble Pie, for me they are the better Zeppelin ?

I also prefer the Clempson era vs the Frampton era, Clempson was heavier to me..

An amazing album to get is Humble Pie Live - King Biscuit Flower Hour or stream it in YouTube =
It has Clempson on lead and damn does it blow me away.

Weirdly enough listening to Janis Joplin's work on Big Brother and the Holding Company's album - Cheap Thrills her voice reminds me of Marriot's, I wonder if anyone influenced anyone or if it was just the consciousness of the time.
