Hehehe, am I the only one to find Alan "growing his own" hilarious?
Anycase, after realising that the feeling in my fingers is as good as it's going to get, I looked at changing from the old classic Jazz 3. I bought a BUNCH of V-Picks (got a deal) and some other "boutique" picks. Some were pretty cool. I really liked their jazz sized ones with holes in, but they were still too pick.
My favourite was from Gravity, however I can't will myself to pay R50 for a pick. I only had one of them, used it almost exclusively for 2 months. Best round tone I could get out of all of the ones I tried (25 or so and then 10 or so run-of-the-mill jobbies).
If the rand dollar ever gets better, I'll buy 2 or 3 more of those, they were just that good. For now I've still got quite a few picks. I usually offer one to any guitar friends that visit me, so if you stop by, remind me!
