Say you're a jazz/swing vocalist and you're about to join a jazz quartet...
drums/bass/piano/guitar.
The knee-jerk reaction is to start shopping for a couple of powered speakers-on-stands
and a small pre-amp for the mic.
But you keep seeing videos of small groups using the tall-tube Bose systems,
which they say also provide perfect monitor sound for the players.
It just seems strange....Is a Bose system really THAT GOOD while looking THAT DIFFERENT..?
Your opinions most welcome....

There is a lass at the company I work for who does 2 t o3 gigs a week and I helped her get the L1 with B2 bass etc system. It was a pretty penny when you include the
wireless mic she bought as well.
Even fooling around with it in the store before she bought it surprised me just how good this thing is.
Well she bought it , its been about 15 months later, not a single problem with it, loud enough for pubs/bars and restaurants, gets lugged all around the Pretoria and Limpopo areas , easy to put up, easy to break down , connects her laptop and off she goes. She drives a smallish hatchback and it fits perfectly.
Sound to my ears is good , very good, added with the convenience I reckon these are great if you need compact and convenience.
they are a lil expensive but in her case perfect.

yes +1 to what icecream man said
at the end of last year i hosted an open mic night for the pta members of the forum and the bose distributor TI distribution (who is a member of this forum) graciously loaned us a bose L1 system with the bass cab and the tower ........ it comes complete with digital mixer and fx and is quick to set up and the sound is top class,
it folds down into a small bag and the bass bin .... however i did find it was still pretty heavy even though it fitted into my hatchback with tons of room to spare ....
so yes squonk and conrad and norio the mc for the evening and myself played though it that evening and it sounded killer.......
so yes expensive but the quality is way beyond what most people are used to ... and the size and ease of use and that it is one complete system (mixer/fx /amp /speakers ) is a winner also it has technology that the sound radiates out very evenly throughout the room ..... so the main PA becomes the onstage monitors....
yes i was suitably impressed
so if you have the budget definitely consider one.............
also the Bose distributor is on this site using the name 'TI distribution" drop him a mail and he may be willing to arrange a demo for you if you serious about buying one
