Guitar Building courses in JHB/PTA

a Friend of mine asked me to find out about Guitar Building courses. However the only local courses I could find was in Capetown (Casimi guitars), the problem is, the courses last anywhere from 8 weeks solid-time to 9-18 months part-time and If you live up near JHB it simply isn't possible to be in the Cape that much. So, does anyone know if there are any of these courses near JHB? Or Anywhere in the North-West/ Free-state region.

you could maybe look up some of these luthiers in your area, and ask them if they would offer a building course at a fee.

I don't know If PJ does do building course but I've seen his work at Neon Gecko's ( Wayne Pritchard) place and they are superb, He is based in the Haartebeespoort area.

Also there is Mervin Davis http://mervyndavisguitars.com also on the way to the dam ...again I don't know if he will do tutoring, but give him a call, a real fabulous chap and great luthier.
