But then again Taylor vs Ibanez is not really apple vs apple... :-\
?
Why not - please elaborate?
Well, for a better expression of my statement: "Comparing
my 2 guitars is not comparing apples with apples. (Taylor 312ce vs Ibanez AEG10)
Well, in my limited knowledge of these things:
1) Taylor is manufactured in the USA and the Ibanez in China. The labour cost in the USA is extremely high so that already has an influence on the price.
2) The difference in the woods used to make the guitars also differ considerably in cost. (Taylor is a solid Sitka spruce top, Sapele back and sides, Ebony fretboard, american tropical mahogany neck).
3) The Fishman saddle pick-up vs the Taylor expression system. Huge cost difference.
So, is the Taylor worth R16000. Yes, every cent.
Is the Ibanez worth its price. No, it's worth double or even tripple that! ?
