free2rhyme Heres my rig: So I have my roadgear for gigs: Fender Scorpion with EMG hz (black) and Paul Reed Smith SE Standard with emg 81/85, custom sprayed white with black hardware into: Sennheiser G4 wireless => Boss TU2 => Boss NS2 kept in a gator case into: Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier, pulled tubes to run at 50w into: Genz Benz G-Flex 2x12 and Marshall Lead 4x12 (I don't use stomp box distortion, only amp distortion) home/practice/recording: Paul Reed Smith Standard 22 Anniversary edition Washburn D10 steel string - the first guitar my Dad gave me(RIP) Ibanez BTB 4 string bass Roland Cube 60 - honestly the best little practice amp out der (in my opinion ?) Roland HD1 electric drum kit M-Audio Delta 1010 soundcard running Pro Tools M-Powered and Cubase 4 Studio - haven't quite figured out the programs yet ? All my electric guitars have locking tuners on them... (Pictures will follow hopefully on da weekend when I have more time) My next prospect is to collect signature guitars, so I'm eyeing the Ltd Dan Jacobs, Schector Synyster Gates and ESP/Ltd Kirk Hammet - if anyone has a contact for Schector let me know 8)
Squonk Good stuff I also had a Washburn D10, but unfortunately some walley knocked it over one day and snapped the headstock off. I had it fixed, but was never the same, I donated it to a friend who painted it and hung it up on the wall in his pub.
Gearhead free2rhyme wrote Roland Cube 60 - honestly the best little practice amp out der (in my opinion ?) MikeM will like this plug, he's been trying to sell one for months now.
MikeM ? ? Lol If that's little ? Sheesh. Mine's too big for my practice use and I prefer my vox by FAR ?
Gearhead MikeM wrote ? ? Lol If that's little ? Sheesh. You're quoting someone who plays a Recto into a 4x12... Yebo it's small. MikeM wrote Mine's too big for my practice use and I prefer my vox by FAR ? I wouldn't if I were you.
MikeM ? Yea, true! Meh, have you heard it? When I come over again, you can try it ? But until then, reserve your judgement ?
deanBailey pretty sweet ? Do you play for any band? I might have missed the thread of you saying that if you posted one.
free2rhyme yup, I play for a small band called Same Old Story in jhb, post hardcore-est... the rig set me back a pretty penny but it was worth it in the end... off all the gear I've gone through and wasted $$$ on, this is by far my best lol, the Roland blew me away but honestly only about the 3rd or so time I heard it, I used to be big into the modelling(Line 6, Boss GT), I just wasn't getting the sound I wanted, even though Boss is Roland(kinda). Modelling all depends on what amp you putting the fx into... The cube is a modeller but voiced directly into an amp plus next time you try one plug a Roland Cube 60 into a 4x12, it'll knock ya hard rock pimping style ? *use it; don't use it info* I A-B'd the recto mod on all modellers to my Recto, the Roland is a far winner; it shares characteristics of the sound, however it'll never have the dynamics of the real thing
