Help - Pain in the neck

Straplocks worn out... new ones haven't arrived yet... guitar... ground... ow :'( Landed on the headstock... the crack runs from the nut towards the body of the guitar... on both sides... it's not just the finish that is cracked because I can see the wood where the finish came off and the wood is cracked too... Repairable? Any idea of price? Worth repairing? It's an epiphone les paul.

I could sell the EMG 81 + 85 plus wiring (it's the wiring kit with jumpers...doesn't need soldering) for like R1200+-

Plus you could sell the rest off as a "fixer-upper" - plenty guys wouldn't mind having something to practice fixing a neck with - if someone repaired it themselves they could end up with a decent guitar quite cheaply.

Take the money I got for my birthday that is supposed to be for an acoustic (R3000), add the R1000 for the repair cost and it brings me up to R5000....

and for that kinda money..you could buy.................................. an epiphone les paul ......

spend the grand , get it fixed ...its your cheaper alternative all round right now

So the luthier has given me some bad news... with the later discovered crack where the body meets the neck he says that the neck would have to be removed and reset, which damages the paint... added to the cost of repairing the headstock and refinishing the neck we are looking at a large amount...

Advice:

"My advice is to either use the guitar as wall art, or strip it of parts and look out for a replacement in the second hand market."

It's not "loose" but there is a crack at the join and in the binding around the fretboard.
I am not sure if it will deteriorate over time or something.
