Help - Pain in the neck

Straplocks worn out... new ones haven't arrived yet... guitar... ground... ow :'(

Landed on the headstock... the crack runs from the nut towards the body of the guitar... on both sides... it's not just the
finish that is cracked because I can see the wood where the finish came off and the wood is cracked too...

Repairable? Any idea of price? Worth repairing? It's an epiphone les paul.

Not a biggie for a Gibson style neck - usually the headstocks break off in those situations. Just a simple crack injection and clamp. Exactly what is involved (and how much it will cost) depends on how open the crack is with the strings off - so let a luthier take a look and quote on it.

Have contacted one or two techs now... also got the number of Grant Fouche who is apparently an awesome tech.

The neck will need to be refinished cos the paint has chipped and cracked...I am thinking that the repair price might be almost as much as the guitar cost me ???

It's a touch up. The same glue for the repair can be used to build up the finish, so you can't feel the damage when playing (it'll still be visible though).

It's unlikely that a luthier would get back to you with prices without seeing the guitar first.

Understandable... but I am guessing he could say RX if I pull open the crack, glue it and clamp it or up to RX if the headstock is completely off...
Just an estimate...

This happened to my epiphone like 10 years ago , i ended up paying R900 to get it fixed and refinnished.

Seems the break was worse than I first suspected... Just took new photos to send to another guy. (Getting various opinions)

By the way... does playing a 45 - 60min set with my guitar neck like this grant me any level of street cred?

Been given prices like R1000... Almost considering just putting some money with and getting something new... but I dunno...eish...
I could sell the EMG 81 + 85 plus wiring (it's the wiring kit with jumpers...doesn't need soldering) for like R1200+-
Take the money I got for my birthday that is supposed to be for an acoustic (R3000), add the R1000 for the repair cost and it brings me up to R5000....

The title of this thread may be deceiving... It's not a pain in the neck, it's a pain in the wallet... :'(
That looks like a SERIOUS problem... if that was your neck you'd need Medical Aid :-[
