ok the story goes, my friend brought me his cort B5 to fix, as 2 of the pots were damaged and kept cutting out, its one of those clicky ones where it clicks in the center. so managed to get 2 new pots put them in exactly the same as the old ones, and they work fine and no more dodgy electronics, that is in passive mode(without the active pre amp), but when i switch to active mode there is nothing.
i have checked and it doesn't seem like anything is shorting out, battery is fine.
Could i have damaged the active circuit ?
is there a way to test it ?
any ideas, someone that ran into the same problem before ?
Edit: the pre amp is the Bartolini MK1, if it is damaged, could i get one locally ?

You could trace the signal through the system with an audio probe to see where it disappears, then you know where the problem is. Basically, you need a fine point like a multimeter probe wired to the love terminal of your output, then you use that to touch the various partso of the circuit to follow the sound from the beginning of the circuit.
Does the preamp have tiny surface might components? It's possible some of them have been burnt out when soldering the pots on. I don't know of a local source for the Bart pre, but I suspect you'll be able to get one from Bartolini in the US. Doug Somervell is a luthier in the US who was able to sell me a Bart preamp and upgraded pickup for my Curbow 5.

i will pull out the multimeter tomorrow and see if i can trace any problems.
it has very small IC's on it.
its exactly the same one that is used on the curbow
lesson learned, just unplug the pre amp when soldering.
