So...in looking for a new present for myself and learning from past mistakes, I visited Bothners to play with a few guitars. This included Cort, Fender, and Yamaha. The Cort SFX5 sounded great but I didn't love the finish (black or natural) the Yammie had nice gloss finish on the body, but the neck was satin....didn't do it for me.
On the way back to work I swung by Musiekwereld in Bellville. The guys also showed me the Yamaha APX500 and the Cort NFX. Really liked the Cort and although the finish was also black, at least the trim was abelone. I asked the price and he left to check. While he was gone I saw a Ovation Celebrity hanging on the wall. He said that the ovation was a buy back so he woupd have to check on the price, while he checked I played. For the first time that day, I found something that had everything I wanted...thusly the Tupperware guitar entered the collection...
