Whammy and capo affects tuning ?

Hi all ,still learning on the electric guitar,would using a capo and using the whammy effect tuning ? Just wondering,c..

Absolutely. You'll struggle to get it to return to pitch properly after whammy bends.

Yes. The light strings can get easily stretched out of tune by a capo. You might look at the G7 capo which is easier to use in different positions. Take note too that some capos don't get on with fingerboards with a pronounced curve.

If you have lots of guitars and lots of roadies then it's less of an issue, but most of us are not in that position :'(

+1 never been happier with a capo than I am with my G7...it was more expensive than the dunlop/keyser alternatives, but it seems to maintain my tuning integrity a lot better than my keyser ever did

Any capo, regardless of brand will be a problem with a whammy. The added friction over the fret prevents the strings from returning properly.

They are good stuff, I accidentally put my Kyser the wrong way up the other day and it worked a lot better ?
