That new castlelite ad really annoys me. The guys drink the stuff and the funky band (which I think is cool) gets replaced with a "band??" Or whatever they are.... Which is supposed to be 'cooler'

Yeah, it grinds me as well. I can understand the idea behind it, but surely insulting would be customers isn't a very smart move.
Mind you, that's like complaining about a Verimark ad to me. Yeah it's bad, but who buys that crap anyway?

There's more going on here than some folks realise - though you have to be up on hip hop AND classic rock to catch all the nuances (I'm not, BTW, I read about this in an article). Both songs have the same title: Cold as Ice. The song that the first band (The Kwaggas) play is a Foreigner song from the 70s. The second band (MOP, I believe they're quite happening right now) perform their song "Cold as Ice" which has a sample from the Foreigner song.

This is at least the third hip hop-themed ad that Castle Lite have run, and at least one more is in the pipeline.

But I'm seriously not that old. I don't see the point of having a bunch of non-singing 'talkers' on stage holding crotch's and saying "hmmmm" "yeah" "4sizzle", etc.

Its more, which is "cooler" band, that I'm disagreeing with.
Every style of music must/should exist.

I dunno, I thought that performance was very OTT, very hammed up. He deliberately over-exaggerates the performance. It's more Liberace than Foreigner.

Which Chameleon is good at. Catch him in Fanie Fourie's Lobola for more deliberate OTTness.

The funny thing was, Mnet would generally follow this with a preview for the next episode of The Wild which could easily have been substituted with 30 seconds of wooden planks with a voice-over from the MTN menu and nobody would know the difference...
