Accidental Strat pickup selection

I can't be the only one who struggles with this? Often times, when I'm strumming away with enthusiasm, I'd hit the 5-pos pickup selector on the strat, sending it from neck somewhere closer to bridge. Have you guys struggled with this at some point? Have you adjusted your technique to avoid it? How?

I have the same problem on my Tele and the reason is that I'm used to my Les Paul which does not have a switch there. I guess you'll just need to concentrate for a while to NOT hit that switch and after a while you'll stop doing it.

Control. Practice. Enough time and you get used to it. I used to have problems with Strats, but over time learned to control it without accidental switching (the volume control was always a bigger problem - until I moved it). Les Paul style switches were the bane of my life for years, but I've been getting used to one over the last few months too.

Flip the switch so your neck pickup selection is at the bottom.

Nope. Your not the only one ?. I used to always play my strat in the bridge position because of the this. I still love strats. That damn switch is just in the wrong place. Other than that the feel, playability and balance is awesome.

I strum over the neck or neck pickup so I dont have that problem... But you could act really metal and tape your switch down to the bridge position....

My issue with a strat at first was, accidentally hitting the volume knob, thus turning it all the way down, (mid solo or epic piece) . . . . aaaarrrrggghhh ! >☹
Just getting a groove on, then . . . . . . your sound suddenly disappearing totally from the mix . . . The knob seemed too close to the business going on.

Control, and practice, sorted me out, . . . .. NOW, . . . I'm lost on a differently configured control set!

Perseverance, and awareness, . . .bru . . . . ? Stick to it!

PS. Dave Gilmore (amongst others) didn't reconfigure his switch, . . . .. . :-[

When i play on my mate's Strat , I accidently roll back the volume knob with the side of my palm . So you will be rocking out with the guys and then all of a sudden you go silent. >☹

Remove the little plastic tip on the lever. You'll impale your hand once and then never again ?

Seriously though, I have never had an issue before. I don't really like the sound of a heavily strummed electric and will rather play short stroked strums using mostly my wrist.
My main problem is rather hitting the volume knob on a tele when I change between pickups and vice versa. >☹
