I was thinking that if I get enough ideas from you guys I'll nix in pieces of everybody's parts to make a hybrid GFSA piece. The tune was intended to be an instrumental for a BBC documentary, but they've gone with one of my other songs. As far a the solo-ing goes, maybe a "hook" in the quiet parts and then mayhem when the heavy guitars kick in. That's as far as I concidered what to do with it.

Dom, ugly is good...sometimes. Go as ugly as you want, I'm sure I'll find a place for it.

Thanks Manfred and Lance for your parts so far. Lance, can you export just the raw guitar track and send it to me. Some bad-ass playing there btw. (Does Kemper do endorsements???)
Make sure the part exactly the same length as the whole track, even if it's only the last little bit of the song you did the solo for. Then it's easy for me to snap it in. Thx.

And yes, it is a Forum Jam now!

I will give it another week and see who else sends me parts then I'll do a mix and gooi it on the web for everybody's perusal...later.

ok, cool. have had the kids on my own for a week - the wife's overseas. no excuse i know, but it does make whamming away on the axe a wee bit difficult. i'll have a bit of a bash at some point tho - p'raps tonite, we shall see. hopefully i'll be able to do it thru my new albion, but probably for the sake of the windows and the kids' ears, it'll be on the li'l vox.

one thing's for sure tho - i'll be using my new tokai custom...

This whole idea is well cool. I will defo give it a whirl. I don't expect to come up with anything usable or, indeed, anything as awesome as Lance's solo (good one Lance) but I'm sure this should be fun.

C'mon Dom and Evo, I'm looking forward to hearing yours as well.

Right boys.

Here's an update of the progress so far.

Lance and Manfred Klose sent me some parts and I have mixed them in. Manfred sent me an improve over the whole track, but I only used his bridge part (for now). Reason being I want to leave space for some other guys. That is if anybody else sends me parts.

Here's the link. Once again, you can download it and snap it into your DAW at 130BPM. I didn't "Top and Tail" it. If you send me parts, make it exactly the same length as the track and try export them as MONO tracks. Mp3's at 192kbps or more is good enough.

Great stuff from Manfred, but still many spaces to be filled and no volunteers right now. ?

If it can wait 'til after the weekend, I'll do some cleaner stuff near the beginning and try a few harmony parts for the first bridge.

Ha ha ha! I think Evo scared that GIT off. And anyway, I don't think I will use something with 15 different Mode-changes in a 30 second part....

The track is coming along nicely. I did a clean ditty in the 2nd "Verse" bit from 01:21-01:50. So that's sorted now.

Costafonix informed me that he will be sending a part and I will be waiting for Alan's as well.

If all goes according to plan, it should be done by the end of next week. Will keep you guys posted.

I will definitely try but I have little say these days in how my time is allocated. The baby has most of the decision making powers in that regard. If I do though, I suspect it would be more for personal enjoyment and not necessarily of much use to you, considering the skilled company I find myself in. ?

I added my parts and CostaFonix"s part, so this is what we have so far:
