Roland RE-20 Space Echo by Boss

I am very satisfied with this pedal. Excellent quality echoes/delay PLUS reverb. One can also have reverb or echo alone..... PLUS one can plug into two amps and use them in stereo .....easy to operate.

I like the RE-20 a lot - great for authentic slapback echo or long dub reggae stuff. Short of ponying up to buy the Strymon, I don't think you can do much better. I actually prefer them to the RE-201 - quite aside from the hassle of finding tape cartridges for the RE-201, the RE-20 also has expression control, tap tempo and a number of other modern features I like.

Actually, the whole "-20" range of boss pedals is underrated. The RT-20 Rotary speaker is another corker - not perfect, but still very good.

Double branding - Roland as well as Boss logo's :-\
Is this a new marketing thing or have they had it for a while? In the olden days, you had mid end Boss and high end Roland equipment...

Alan is Bothners the agents for this ? I got mine secondhand.

Yip, this is about the closest one will get to tape echo.....and as you say the slap-back and other early echoes are very good indeed. I also like the reverb here....good quality.

No, it's actually a Boss unit, but is a COSM model of the classic Roland RE-201 (which being both, they can name on the box ?.

Yeah - Musical Distributors (MD) - who are part of Bothner Group Holdings.

Pretty accurate to the spring reverb in the original. Not as lush as a Fender reverb tank, but has it's own, clangy charm.
