Cleartone strings and where to get them in JHB

Hey guys, as the title says

Im looking for cleartones, cause they the only other string brand besides elixir that coats all six strings...

either that or DR Dragonskin ELECTRIC strings (ive seen the acoustics around but never the electrics)

my hands are so acidic that i will blacken a set of EB in 4 hours...

I've been interested in trying them out for a while myself as they are plated, not coated. Unfortunately they seem to have no international distributors, so you would have to buy them from the US.

those are acoustic strings. i guess if they stock them, i can order the electric ones

i took a look at D'Addario EXP packaging and it seems the plains are also treated.

so right now its EXP, Elixir, Dragonskins, and cleartones

There is a local importer: Music Connection in Craighall Park, JHB. They only import to sell in their store, which is why you might not see them listed on the Cleartone website as distributor. Speak to Richard or Jacques: 011 787 6222

otherwise, stringsandbeyond ship to SA.. and its not all unreasonable.. except that the rand took a shitdive again >☹

Edit: Just checked Music connection have stock of Bass, Electric, but no acoustic

I have previously tried the acoustic strings about three years ago. Anton at Connection was raving about them, so I bought two sets.
I didn't like them. Found them very dull compared to my usual elixirs. I went straight back to the nanowebs after that, and have not been tempted to sway since, apart from the occasional polyweb when nanos are not available ?

Absolutely rubbish strings!

After I saw some very famous brands including my beloved Larrivees coming new with them. I thought I was in for a treat. Ordered them...

Worst strings ever. They lasted, if 2 weeks, started fraying, absolutely nothing special about them.

And they expensive!
