Highway-Chile The box that pops up while starting GFSA is a major annoyance-well I find it so. It slows things down. Granted it probably helps pay bills, but it is the fact that it pauses the page load I find aggravating. Just me. The ads in the banner are not so bad because they don't slow things down. Just me. You know........whe you are in a rush (always) and you pop by quickly to see if a sub-forum or thread has had any movement.......and the page grey's out, you get the spinning wheel....yawn.....then some dumb thing or other in a box. Doesn't even seem interesting most of the time. Sorry. ? Just had to get it off my chest. It's not like i'm an avid poster here.
Bob-Dubery You can shut it down quickly by clicking on the little circular countdown thingy. My main beef about those pop up jokes is that they're not funny. Not offensive, just to be clear, but not funny either. So they end up just being an annoyance. BUT... this site is not free. Free for me, maybe, but it costs money to run and Alan and Norio need to make enough from it to make it worth their while.
BMU I like some of the pop-up muso jokes. And it's a heck lot better than, say, washing powder ads woulda been. Plus I figure if I'm too busy to wait 1 minute for the pop in, then I'm prooobably too busy shoot the breeze about guitars in the first place... (bada-bishhhh)
