I went to see him last night and I have to be honest - I'd sell my sister's kidneys to be able to play like that. He's really quite exceptional. Besides, my sister's not the brightest so she probably wouldn't miss them for a couple of years at least.
I didn't get the name of the song but near the beginning he played some kind of bluegrass sounding number and it blew me away. Really fantastic.

I am with you ...Dan is legendary I reckon..

I can recommend attending one of his guitar weekends. Normally held first weekend in December in Clarens, Free State. It is a great experience!

Check the song 20 stones, i think that's the one you are talking about. Has anyone here been to one of those guitar weekends of him? What all do you do?

I was there too. 8)
Excellent show (I've seen his regular show a few times), and quite varied too! He covered Cohen (Hallelujah), Zep (Kashmir) and Stevie Wonder (Superstition) all in one set, along with the bluesy stuff. I'd say it was a more mature performance from a really seasoned musician, and he's a great singer too.

It was an awesome show!! I always do my best to go and see his shows. I was lucky enough to get a comp and a little backstage time with Dan ?
The Guitar weekends are amazing! I was at the last and am going to be at the next one too! (once they announce it and start selling tickets) I was chatting to the film crew from the past weekend last night, who tell me that the promo looks FANTASTIC, that Dan is super happy with it and they'll be releasing it in a couple of months as a promo for the upcoming one.
The weekends aren't to be missed! Great gear, cool guys (lots of forumites) and Dan's teaching is epic. Plus you get to jam with his band on the last night.
