It is with tremendous sadness that we have learned that Southern Gypsy Queen’s drummer, Paul Wilson has passed away unexpectedly at the age of 29.
Last week the band made this announcement on Twitter: ”We regret to inform you that Paul Wilson, drummer for Southern Gypsey Queen has fallen ill and sadly there is no way that SGQ will be able to perform at Kaktus op die Vlaktes this Saturday, we are confident that he will be back on his feet and Rock n Rolling in no time.”
It is believed that Paul died of a heart attack this afternoon in the Eastern Cape.
Our sincere condolences to Paul’s family and friends.
I saw SGQ for the first time 10years ago, what a band, what a drummer, what a loss! RIP.
