help needed regarding value

Hey Guys

Wonder if you can assist me on the following.

I have two guitars I'm wanting to sell just don't know how much I should ask for them.

The one is a Crafter Cruiser 3/4 strat copy red a few marks and dings but good.

And the second is a Brand new still in box Epiphone les paul JR.

Your advice would be deeply appreciated

I only have limited experience with buying/selling so I can only offer my opinion ?

Determining a price for a used guitar, or anything really, depends on how fast you want to sell it. If you underprice by a lot, it'll be gone in a day, and if you try to make a profit, you're gonna sit with stock on your hands for a while. So there's that..

You must also remember, which a lot of people on gumtree/olx somethimes forget, that even though you have a brand new guitar, still in the box, you won't get very close to"new" market value for it, unless it can't be bought in a store anymore. No one will buy a "second hand" guitar for the same price as they could get it in a store, the safety, convenience and peace of mind that comes with buying from a store will win every time.

I like to see guitars on gumtree between 55 and 65% of what it would cost to buy the same guitar Today depending on quality and extra's, music shops will generally sell guitars with new strings, a bag/case and a few picks, so whilst it's good to advertise these things, including them doesn't add as much value as leaving them out detracts value. You'll probably be able to charge a premium on the Epi since it's newnewnew ?

The short answer: About 500 bucks for the crafter and 1.1k for the epi.
