1/4 BALANCED Jacks in Cape Town?

Hey

I'm looking to make up some cables for my expression pedals and I'm in need of some right angle 1/4 inch jacks for this. Preferably with a flat top. Something like this: http://daier.en.alibaba.com/product/466200913-212589184/1_4_Right_Angle_Guitar_Plug_Jack.html

But balanced. Can't find anyone selling these in Cape Town. Any help would be much appreciated.

They are called pancake jacks and you're looking for the TRS (stereo) version. Even if you find, they will likely be very poor quality - the only manufacturers that maks a pancake jack worth a damn are Switchcraft and GLS and even those are a bit iffy compared to other jacks. Also be aware that while they are flatter, they are wider, which causes a problem on some pedals (shouldn't with an expression pedal though).

You might find them online from RS Electronics.

The quality is not so much a concern I guess as it is for expression only. Thanks for the RS Electronics tip, seems they have what I need.

UPDATE: Actually can't find balanced on there. Anyways. Will keep looking around.

I got these from RS to use on some patch cables. I haven't had them long bu they've been okay so far.

Any idea why this is? What tends to go wrong with them? I like them for getting pedals close together on my board and hope I don't run into problems.

Had most of my TRS jacks made up by the dude on the first floor at Marshall Music (at the recording section). His name just slipped my mind... Good quality workmanship, great cables & jacks. I used Mogami stereo cables with switchcraft jacks. Works flawlessly but slight overkill for an expression pedal maybe.

Thanks for the help. Seems Marshall does have some connectors that should work (last time I called they didn't have any, so should've probably checked with them today before making this post). Not as flat as I really wanted, but hopefully will be able to still fit my pedals inside the gator gigbox I'm ordering.

The tips work loose and start making intermittent contact.

For me the only stereo (TRS) right-angle jack I'd consider is the Neutrik NP3-RX.

Expensive.....but worth every cent spent

I'm the same, but they are very bulky for a pedalboard, which is a big consideration for most guys. The Amphenol are a decent balance between size and quality

i have used the unbalanced Amphenol corner jacks before for patch cable, and i must say its very good quality.

cant remember where i got them from.

you can try Musiek wereld in bellville, but i havent seen the balanced corner one in shops, how many do you need ?

In my previous post I incorrectly mentioned that I had mogami TRS cables made up with switchcraft jacks at Marshall's... They are actually Amphenol jacks.

+1 for great balance between price, size and quality.
