Hi. Someone wants to sell me a Yamaha SG500B (black) guitar with a hard foam case. Anyone knows anything about these guitars? The action feels really nice. Not sure if a like the sound of the pickups...However, the price is only R900. Should I take it?

Yamaha's scaled down version of the classic SC-2000. There are a few different eras, with different features, but I'd say it's probably worth R900 regardless. If you end up with a late '70s model, with set neck and binding at that price, you're smiling.
Pickups in all the SGs were too hot and fat for my tastes, but that's easily cured.
Do you have any more details? Pics? Bolt-on v set-neck, year, serial number - anything like that?
