Really good guitars are quite thin on the floor and when it clicks with the right person, they'll move heaven and earth to ensure they get it.
I'd rather sit with it for a while than sell it to someone who is only willing to pay half the real value. Obviously if you are helping a friend out and "making a plan" (or even cutting the price to make sure it goes to the right person), it's a different story.
Nickel-plated (base metals vary, depending on what they are used for - bridge is aluminium, pickup covers are nickel-silver. Compared to chrome, it has a nice, subtle golden hue (Chrome has a blueish tint by comparison), but unlike chrome, does wear.
