Cigs are horrendously expensive here. I quite about 14 years ago...going on 15. Best thing I ever did for myself. I had smoked like a fish for 30 years plus. Tried so many times to quit and failed. This last time.......it's like the smoking switch was just turned off. One day I smoked......the next I didn't.......and this time.......no cravings, no headgames, no out of control temper, no withdrawals.......nothing.

Are you still allowed to smoke anywhere in SA?

Here in Los Angeles........no more smoking indoors......not even in bars and restaurants. Been that way for years now.

Here it's much the same...no smoking just about everywhere which is a good thing of course. Thinking back where we used to or were allowed to smoke....cinemas, even in university classes and exams, planes, trains.....not in church or at school though.....LOL !
For most it's very difficult to quit...nictotine is a powerful addictive substance.

I wouldn't even consider LSD addictive in the slightest way, there are no chemicals in it that create a dependency, perhaps habit forming, but if you're doing enough of it to make a habit you have some other line of serious issues...

Anyway, who smokes what? I was sticking to Camel naturals for the longest time (+/- 5 years) but now Lucky Strike seems to be my first choice ?

Firstly.......as much as I so really wanted to ? .........I could not smoke Luckies for shit. They gave me the absolute worst tummy aches and the runs. Weird huh? Gunston's too. They had a really odd flavor and taste. I could only tolerate Texan's.....plains........LOVED them. Even though I was constantly spitting out strands of 'baccy.......even though I tamped them down good.

So.........

I basically smoked these from somewhere around '66 to '81 when I came to the USA.

Then when I first came to the USA....fully expecting Texan to be a big name brand here, only to find they did not exist......I smoked these after trying quite a few awful cigs. I kinda liked the flavor and the peace sign-ish shaped plastic filter insert intrigued me.

Then the word went around that the filter insert caused heavy medical problems........ ? so I smoked these until I quit about 15 years ago.
