Recently i started getting problems with my Samsung LCD monitor. it started flashing and didn't want to come on. My gut feeling told me it was blown caps.
So i phoned a few repair people in the area, and no one wanted to fix it for me. So i thought i'd give it a go. a quick search on the net i came across alot of vids showing you how to open the monitor and find the problem. It took me 30mins to repair and needed 2 new caps which cost me R7.50. and it wasn't difficult at all.
The monitor is working lekker again.
So before you throw you flat screen monitor away next time, open it up and look for the problem.

Thanks for the post Manfred. Hopefully I won't need to try it myself, but good to know about this.

I've also got problems with a Samsung monitor so this will be very helpful.
Thanked.

Jono / MakePeace managed to get a Samsung monitor resurrected in a similar way by replacing some caps.
Seems as if these monitors have a built-in time bomb with low spec caps.
