Either way, it's such a messed up story. Me......I'm so sick and tired of this culture of lies, deceit and cover up's. Politicians being the worst. And as for the law.......often it is the lawyers who tell clients to lie etc. What ever happened to telling the truth and being a man about it if and when a terrible mistake is made?
There was a discussion on this very forum recently about the law and lawyers. Now, generalisations are difficult because laws and the legal process are not the same in all jurisdictions, but here in SA a lawyer who knows that his client done it may not argue as if his client is innocent. I should think that a lawyer, here in SA, who prevails upon his client to commit perjury would be taking a chance with his career.
A lawyer should defend his client with the maximum vigour possible within the law no matter how distasteful the crime.
