I lucked out on a used guitar in "Condition 1". Maybe someone else can score a deal as well. Anyone know how long their shipping takes?

Now the wait - only lands Friday so it's not going to clear before the weekend ☹

Edit :- Just a heads up for others waiting anxiously - I discovered that their tracking number works if you select the track by reference options. Track by number didn't find it.

I have no idea where mine is ☹ UPS can't find anything on their side, Cape Mail has no record of it. MF replied that they will get back to me with regards to the tracking number, but nothing yet. It was only shipped the 19th, so I guess I am being a bit impatient.

Last time I used UPS, they lost my first parcel (scanned going in to a container in Aus, never came out on the Jo'burg side). Then Chris Kinman and I merrily tracked the replacement parts as they flew from Australia to the US and ended up with a very puzzled UPS driver in Napier, Pennsylvania, who emailed me to ask for directions to my house. Which I gave him... in detail... ?

I ordered mine on a thursday evening an received it hte following wednesday at work ..within a week. all dealing with MF were superlative so dont worry , it iwll get there alright.

It's almost a catch 22 , love / hate thing - ordering really cool stuff is too easy. Yes I want my guitar, but I'm hoping they make it so painful I don't do anything like this again in a hurry ??? ?

UPS just phoned me ? And now I have a working tracking number, my parcel is in CT and arrived from Philadelphia via Koeln, Germany. Getting excited ?

What are they charging you to ship a guitar to SA?
I got the impression that I would have to pay over $120 to ship a $200 used guitar.
Then there's VAT, handling etc

Shipping via MF was $230, but the discount helped a lot. On a $200 guitar it isn't worth it, but buy a Les Paul or a fancy Strat and it starts to make sense.

My item shipped the 19th, got to SA the 21st and has been in some infinite customs loop since then.

How did they go about the customs/VAT business?

They called earlier in the week to confirm it's private and took my id number for customs.

This morning's call was to confirm the amount payable for vat. They emailed me an invoice and I did an EFT and mailed them proof of payment back. They can also do a credit card transaction over the phone, but I declined that option.

Thanks for the info ? They only phoned me yesterday for my ID, so I assume I will only get it next week ☹
