Or just 'cause they're tired of it maybe? Imagine being expected to play the same songs all the time.
That's one thing I think would get to me being a pro muso; playing the same song 200-odd times a year... But then most people do things of a repetitious nature in their jobs but dont have 80 000 screaming people turn up and pay to watch them do it (especially when this will likely be the only time they tour SA). Basically what I am saying is that if I had gone, not as a die-hard fan with all the albums and b-sides and demo versions of their b-sides, etc, I'd have felt a bit let down not hearing Scartissue. I'm sure they played Under the Bridge - and they would have been playing that for a lot longer than Scartissue.
Yeah, I seem to remember them playing it. The thing is, it's not
just Scar Tissue they have to repeat hundreds of times a year - there are quite a few so I guess they leave one or two of the hits out from gig to gig.
Yeah, sure - I may be wrong though, but to me I'd rate their three 'biggest' songs as Under The Bridge, Scartissue and Give It Away. People are paying good money to come and see you, and probably most are the fairweather fans who want to hear the biggest songs. Hey, they're the band, they've sold out the concert, they could play two hours of Boney M covers or slowed down versions of all their b-sides. But my point really is that yeah, you might not like playing the same songs over and over again, but thats the reason why many of the people paid to see you, so suck it up for 5 minutes and play the damn song >☹ Hehe, but again, I wasn't there and I'm not a huge fan - I would have been one of them 'fairweather' guys hanging at the back
