Watched Gary Moore's Tribute to Phil Lynott - One Night in Dublin

Some killer playing, but Gary just can't get the vocals right.

Gary played with all the Thin Lizzy Guitarists on each of the songs that they did for Lizzy.

Brian Robertson played a LP and Scott Gorham a Strat, but when Eric Bell came on to do Whiskey in The Jar he had this beast of a Strat.

And I though Kiera was crazy putting in a humbucker on her "Jazz Strat", but he does get quite a unique tone

Yeah, he had that Strat on the first Lizzy album and it was new then, so it must be a late '60s. Now it makes the Gallagher Strat look like a closet classic. ?

It's a good example of the difference the scale length and bolt-on neck make to the tone. Still more "wiry" and articulate than a Les Paul, but not as edgy as a trad Strat.

Phil had a unique voice and vocal delivery - no-nonsense, no pretense working-man's rock vocals, but always with something of a laid back feel.
